The Applied and Computational Math Emphasis (ACME) is an advancement in education and learning in mathematics. Our goal is to create a new educational model that allows students to gain further understanding in mathematics and greater mathematical skills, but also provides students with real world opportunities to utilize those skills. We hope to create an environment of discovery-based learning where students can apply what they learn to real-life.
Students who participate in ACME can expect a focus in rigorous mathematics and ethics in science. The program will consist of four core sequences and labs for a total of eight classes with one lab per class. The emphasis is structured to contain a class load of 30+ credit hours. Students will also participate in a concentration or emphasis of their choice.
